Beginning on Aug 4, leaders from across the African Continent will be in Washington D.C for the first ever U.S Africa Leaders Summit. Both this week and next, organizations around DC will be hosting a number of side events, most of which are open to the public. These events provide an excellent opportunity for development organizations to take part in the conversation.
About the Summit
The goal of the Summit is to strengthen ties between the U.S and Africa, with a focus on trade and investment, African Security and democracy. The theme of the Summit is "Investing in the Next Generation” as they converse on means to create an environment of growth and opportunities for the next generation. The Summit will hold for three days and with 50 leaders expected to be in attendance, it will be the largest ever held by the White House for African Leaders.
