This week kicks off the Clinton Global Initiative's annual meeting in New York. Held each year as part of the UN week events, CGI is an invite-only gathering featuring the world's foremost individual leaders and organizations working on international issues and development. The event features speeches and panel discussions, as well as the announcement of commitments of new projects, programs and investments to improve the world.
The 2014 theme is "Reimagining Impact," the third and final part of a planned three year series on how to maximize impact when taking on the world's biggest challenges. Speakers this year include Matt Damon, Co-founder of water.org; King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan; Michelle Bachelet, President of Chile; Agnes Binagwaho, Minister of Health of Rwanda; Ertharin Cousins, Executive Director of the World Food Programme; former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
For updates on the latest from CGI, including speeches and commitments, follow the conversation online via the CGI webstream or on social media using #CGI2014. We will also be featuring blog posts with our take on the conversations at CGI and UN week on both the Humanitas Global blog and Hunger & Undernutrition.
