On June 23rd, from 1:15-2:30 EDT, the Women’s Major Group (WMG) gathers at the UN to launch their Red Flags: No Sustainable Development Without Equality and the #WhatWomenWant campaign. WMG has developed this campaign in an effort to strengthen human rights commitments and inclusivity in the Post-2015 Development Agenda, particularly in commitments to gender equality. The campaign’s kickoff coincides with the UN’s meeting to approve the zero draft of the outcome document for the UN Summit to adopt the post-2015 Development Agenda. WMG released the Red Flags to advocate for changes they envision in the zero draft. Join in the Twitter rally from 9:00-10:00AM EDT during negotiations June 23-25.
